This Isn’t Your Grandma’s Bingo: Play to Win $100
Let’s play Downtown Arlington Bingo! These summer activities are perfect for families, college students, and anyone looking to check off their summer bucket list. Plus, a grand prize and gift cards are up for grabs!
This bingo card includes nine downtown activities for you to complete this summer. As you complete the tasks, take a photo or selfie of you completing each one. Post these photos on your story with the hashtag #downtownbingo and tag @dtarlington. Then, send all nine photos to us via DM on Instagram or Twitter or email us at damc@downtownarlington.org. The first person to submit all nine credible photos for each activity will win a grand prize of a $100 gift card and a goodie bag! Every person to complete the bingo card after the first winner will be entered into a drawing at the end of July for one of three $50 gift cards to your choice of Downtown business.
Now, let’s walk through each square and details of activities to complete for each!
Visit Levitt Pavilion
Levitt Pavilion is located at 100 W. Abram St. and often hosts free concerts throughout the summer. To check off this square, you can either attend a show or simply visit the pavilion with a friend for a picnic or to throw a frisbee. Upcoming concerts at the Levitt include:
- Shamarr Allen on June 25 at 8:30 p.m.
- Radney Foster on June 30 at 8:30 p.m.
- Bob Schneider on July 2 at 8:30 p.m.
- Brad Thompson during Light Up Arlington on July 3 at 8:30 p.m.
Visit our events calendar or the Levitt Pavilion’s website to see all the concerts planned for the summer.
Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection at the Arlington Museum of Art
The Arlington Museum of Art’s new exhibit, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection, is now open and runs until September 24th. The exhibit features original costumes and photographs, plus a timeline and other visuals inspired by Swift’s creative eras.
Admission is free for AMA members and infants under two, $20 for adults 18-54, $5 for children 2-12, $15 for teens 13-17, and $15 for seniors over 55. There are discounts for those with a valid military ID and groups of 10 or more.
After breaking records at the Arlington Museum of Art, "Taylor Fever" is spreading across the city. Join in on the fun by checking out the exhibit to scratch off another square on your bingo card!
Pose in Front of a Downtown Mural
Whether you are walking down Front Street or driving down Division Street, you’re sure to see one. Downtown Arlington is filled with the colors of multiple murals on nearly every corner. So much so, that we made a self-guided mural tour. Our tour includes over a dozen murals, but you simply have to choose one for this bingo card!
Here are our personal favorite murals across downtown to help you choose which one will help you cross off another bingo square!
- The “Historic Arlington” mural by Lee and Sheri Hay is located on the south side of the Vandergriff Office building.
- Head up Division Street and take a right onto Mesquite Street where you’ll find “Love” by Justin Simmons.
- Eat some tacos at Hurtado BBQ and view the mural “Mexicue” by Kara Burton on their patio.
- While you are visiting the Taylor Swift exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art, take the time to admire their “Cowgirl” mural by Amandalynn.
Try Any Downtown Restaurant
Restaurants and bars speckle the Downtown Arlington map. With no shortage of food options, this should be the easiest square to mark off! Here’s a list of just a few of the restaurant options you could choose for this activity.
- Cartel Taco Bar
- Hooligan’s Pub
- Division Brewing
- Kintaro Ramen
- Hurtado BBQ
- J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill
- Namoo Koreanbowl
- The Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club
Attend Any Event (check our events calendar)
Summer is the most eventful time of the year for Downtown Arlington. From trivia nights at local bars to the Light Up Arlington event on July 3, there is no shortage of local events to attend. View our year-round event calendar for more ideas to mark off this square!
Share a Sweet Treat with a Friend
The coffee shops and bakeries across downtown offer a variety of sweet treats. You could kill two birds with one “scone” if you grab a sweet treat while sipping your coffee. Whether you’re craving a cookie or a slice of cake, any of these options are great ways to mark out this square!
The “with a friend” part of this square can mean your best friend, partner, furry friend, or even the barista. We just want to see you socialize with some of the incredible people or pets in downtown!
Grab a Cup of Coffee or Tea
We want to support our local coffee shops and their hard-working baristas. Inclusion Coffee is a good option to grab a drink while you work or study. White Rhino has incredible coffee with delicious food options for breakfast or lunch. Salter Bros. Coffee has a wide range of blends for any coffee connoisseur.
From milk tea to green tea, Kung Fu Tea has options for those who prefer tea over coffee. Hit up any local tea or coffee shop to scratch off this square!
Attend a Show at Theatre Arlington or Arlington Music Hall
Theatre Arlington plays are a great way to get the family together, enjoy a date night with your partner, or treat yourself to a night out. The theater is currently showing “Fly By Night” three to four times a week. The musical is about a melancholy sandwich maker's humdrum life being intersected by two entrancing sisters. It’s an ode to young love set against the backdrop of the Northeast blackout of 1965. Or you can attend the theater’s Pinnacle Bank Comedy Club or Play Reading Club.
Another option for marking off this square is to attend an Arlington Music Hall event. The music hall has multiple concerts and events going on this summer. Here are some events happening soon:
- The Elton Johns on June 24 at 7:30 p.m.
- Alice in Playland on July 1 at 9 p.m.
- Texas Clearwater Revival on July 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Keep up with our events calendar for more information on upcoming shows and concerts!
Shop at Local Businesses
You don’t necessarily have to make a purchase for this square, but entering a small business is required! Downtown is home to many locally owned businesses with amazing backstories. You’ll find everything from sneakers to comic books to spoil yourself or someone else.
Here are some of the options for local shops to visit. Take a photo in front of your favorite item in the store or what you bought!
The first-place winner will be announced as soon as all nine of their photos are submitted and verified. The drawing for the other three gift card winners will be held at the end of July. Work these bingo activities into your summer plans and good luck!
