Business Improvement District (BID)

In 2010, property owners began the petition process to establish the Downtown Arlington Business Improvement District (BID). A BID is a legal funding mechanism providing for self-assessment on properties within the approved BID boundaries. The BID Management Plan sets out an annual scope of services that Downtown Arlington provides through a contract with the City of Arlington. This work includes marketing, economic development, security, and beautification services that benefit our downtown stakeholders.

In 2025, we will be going back out to the downtown property owners to re-establish the BID for another ten-year term. This requires a petition vote by the property owners themselves. Petition packets are being mailed to each owner of record, with signatures being collected between February and April 2025. The proposal to renew this legal funding that provides services and programs that benefit the assessment payers is as follows:

What You Get With Your Assessment
