4 Things to Do After the Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show, Presented by Chevrolet
The Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show, Presented by Chevrolet is this Saturday, June 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and it promises to be a beautiful outdoor event admiring a large variety of vehicles from the 20th century. Along with these classic and antique automobiles will be games for the whole family and live music provided by the Arlington Music Hall. And the cool thing about this event is that everything wraps up early enough in the day to leave you with plenty of time to explore the rest of Downtown! Here’s four things to do after the classic car show this Saturday.
1. Indulge in a delicious meal from Downtown’s Urban Union
The Vandergriff Town Center and Urban Union are one stop shops where you can eat, play, and work all within walking distance from each other. Restaurants such as Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club and Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers are centrally located in the classic car show while other restaurants are also conveniently located a short walk away. This makes it the perfect destination for when you work up an appetite walking around the car show or playing games for hours. From tacos to pizza to good ole Texan barbecue, Urban Union has it all! Here’s a list of must-try restaurants located near the big event.
3. Wind down with a drink at Downtown’s many bars and breweries
After a full day outdoors strolling through the streets of downtown, you’ll probably want to sit down, kick back, and enjoy a cold drink. Lucky for you, there is a plethora of options to choose from in a 5-minute radius from the car show. Whether it’s the ambience, the music, or the menu, each location offers an extremely unique experience. From seasonal brews to your tried-and-true favorites, these Downtown bars, pubs, and breweries have it all! Drink responsibly and remember to stay hydrated with plenty of water during the car show before heading over.
4. Keep the good times rolling at Downtown’s entertainment destinations
If you’re a party animal and have energy left after the car show, there’s plenty of things to do to keep the good vibes going and continue the fun. You won't even have to leave the event site to see the Buck Wild Comedy Tour at the Arlington Music Hall. Located down the street from the Vandergriff Town Center is Lone Star Axe Throwing, where you can throw axes and shuriken while enjoying some good food and drinks. Further down Front Street, if your muscles can handle the challenge, is Dyno-Rock Indoor Climbing Center, an indoor rock-climbing center featuring a 16,000-square-foot climbing surface open to all ages. A short drive away is Free Play Arcade, a retro arcade featuring all the best throwback games for you to relive your childhood while sipping on some good beer.
