You know it. TripAdvisor knows it. Downtown Arlington is exploding with character!
What does Downtown Arlington and the Chicago West Loop, Denver’s River North Art District, the L.A. Downtown Arts District and NYLO’s Lower Garden District have in common? They’re on Trip Advisor’s list of Downtown America: 11 Awesome Urban Districts Exploding with Character, posted March 4, 2016.
TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals scoured the country for urban neighborhoods and downtown districts that are great for visitors and locals alike, those with “their own unique character, activities, sights, sounds and tastes.” Downtown Arlington, as well as the others on the list, deliver the goods: vibrant and diverse, places where “a plethora of cultures and inspirations” come together.
“Downtown Arlington has a unique identity, unequalled in North Texas,” said Tony Rutigliano, president and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation. “Where else can you find -- within less than a two-mile radius -- a top tier university, prolific cultural arts institutions and live entertainment, exciting NCAA and professional athletics, one-of-a-kind dining and retail, and a supportive business climate?”
According to the TripAdvisor review, Downtown Arlington has “an energetic college vibe with the university right next door, but working professionals both young and old enjoy the local scene, too.”
“The TripAdvisor ranking reflects the momentum being generated every single day by the countless Downtown Arlington stakeholders, businesses, institutions, visitors and residents,” said Rutigliano. “It’s an exciting time!”
While TripAdvisor gave a shout out to the Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Music Hall, and the Arlington Museum of Art, the Downtown Arlington website tells you the rest of the story. Be sure to follow @dtarlington on Facebook and Twitter, because there’s so much more on the horizon. Short and long-term projects are already in the works including a bike share program, all-new downtown public library, two mixed-use developments, two new microbreweries, enhancements to Abram Street, and new residential options.
Downtown Arlington: an awesome urban district exploding with character? Absolutely! Come see for yourself, again and again.
