March First Thursdays: Where the Arts & Community Gather

Mark your calendars for another exciting First Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. on March 6, as Downtown Arlington comes alive with the monthly event. Local businesses collaborate with artists to showcase a diverse array of creative talents, offering attendees an immersive cultural experience in our walkable downtown.

March eventgoers can expect another display of lively artistic and engaging installations. This month’s event will see activations including live glassblowing, Wooden O (an interactive adventure created by Brave Little Company), interactive music, impromptu Shakespeare performances and so much more!

Much Ado About Downtown: Shakespearean Flair in the Heart of Arlington

From March 6 through April 5, Downtown Arlington invites you to partake in "Much Ado About Downtown," a Shakespearean-themed extravaganza that infuses downtown with the timeless charm of the Bard's works. This campaign features a series of programs, promotions and whimsical activities leading up to "Shakespeare Live!" performances at the Levitt Pavilion.

Local businesses and cultural institutions will participate by offering themed events, special menus, and interactive experiences that celebrate Shakespearean literature and theater. Activations like flower crown-making at The Mosaic Market and Shakespearean Trivia at J. Gilligan’s will launch these themed festivities during the March First Thursday, with events like a downtown-wide Bar’d Crawl on March 29 continuing the campaign all month long.

The festivities will culminate in live performances of Shakespeare's plays at the Levitt Pavilion on April 3, 4 and 5, providing an opportunity for audiences to enjoy classic theater during Shakespeare Live! Find more event dates and food/drink specials here.
