Santa is Coming to Downtown Arlington! and Ten More Ways to Ring in the Holidays with Your Kids

Looking for all the ways to get into the holiday spirit with your entire family? From Santa Claus to Peppa Pig, The Nutcracker to the annual Arlington Holiday Lights Parade, and from meeting a knight to learning how to make holiday PJs, you'll cherish these times you spend together in Downtown Arlington.

It’s true! Santa Claus (aka Postmaster Kelvin Dansby) is coming to the Arlington Main Post Office, 300 E. South Street in Downtown, for Photos with Santa! 

In addition, some helpful elves from the Arlington Public Library and US Postal Service will show kids how to write a letter and address an envelope to Santa. Please note that stamps are required and will be on sale during the event.

If you can't attend the Photos with Santa event but your kids still want to mail letters to Santa, no problem! Bring your children to the Arlington Main Post Office, 300 E. South Street in Downtown, to drop their letter into our bright red holiday mailbox, provided by the Arlington Public Library.

The Downtown Library is offering a series of ho-ho-holiday inspired workshops throughout the month of December! Learn how to make felt Christmas trees (Dec. 2), sew family Christmas stockings (Dec. 10), laser-cut ornaments (Dec. 17), create holiday PJs (Dec. 13 & 20), and more. Visit their event calendar for the complete schedule.

Meet a Real Knight in Shining Armour!   
Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 pm

Arlington Museum of Art

Take a kid-friendly journey into Medieval art, song, and history with a talk by Cheryl Mitchell, Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. After Cheryl’s talk, meet and interact with Greg Tsouprake, who has been making his own chainmail armour for 30 years. A regular at many Renaissance Fairs, Greg will be happy to pose for photos and answer questions about what it means to be a chivalrous knight. World Ballet Series presents The Nutcracker

Bring your friends and family to enjoy this festival holiday tradition, which is followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree adjacent to the Levitt Pavilion and City Hall in Downtown. 
        

Peppa Pig's Winter Adventures   
Monday, December 26 at 6:00 pm

UTA College Park Center

Hey kids! Join Peppa Pig on an exciting camping trip in the winter woods with George and her school friends including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep, and Gerald Giraffe. With lunchboxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends are excited about their outdoor holiday adventure, full of singing, dancing, games and surprises. Little piggies everywhere will love celebrating the season with this 60-minute live musical experience!
    

USPS Operation Santa

Does your family need a little help from Santa this year? Or would you like to help Santa answer one special letter from a child? Every year, the USPS Operation Santa campaign pairs children across the country with generous people who adopt their letters and find just the right gifts to help Santa fulfill their wishes.
