Rain or Shine: Center Stage Music Festival Rocked Downtown Arlington

The Levitt Pavilion launched their free season of music with a lot of energy. Our very own Tony Rutigliano and Experience Arlington’s Ronnie Price helped kick off the weekend by introducing Delta Rae on Friday evening. Delta Rae did an amazing rendition of the song ‘Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac.

As the clouds started rolling in, many of the festival attendees sought cover in the nearby restaurants and bars in Downtown. Some very dedicated Sarah Jaffe fans braved the weather and chanted until she played four acoustic songs.

Saturday night began with brief showers but it cleared out for Calhoun.

And then, The Polyphonic Spree kept us on our toes as they wrote THIS.

It wasn't long before Tim DeLaughter broke through the white sheet and started connecting with the fans. The bright pink paisley choir robes and mystical dancing was a definite throwback to a different era. The Levitt Pavilion lawn was flooded with audience members of all ages and eager attendees packed in front of the stage.

Hearing an entire lawn sing ‘HEY! It’s the suuuuuun!” can be categorized as a spiritual experience unlike any other.

Sunday evening had perfect weather for the Old 97’s performance and it was a great way to conclude the Texas-themed, music-filled weekend. People drove from all over for a chance to see the alternative country band.

We hope you enjoyed the free music and got the chance to try out some great food from our Downtown Arlington restaurants. We will see you next year ‑‑ rain or shine! :)
