Downtown Arlington's guide to your 2025 resolutions
We know how difficult it can be to make AND keep up with a New Year’s resolution. Downtown Arlington has all the resources to help you achieve your 2025 goals.
Get your steps in
Whether you’re looking for a running trail, a dog walk or just an easy, fun path to walk, Downtown Arlington’s Paths has you covered.
The new initiative "Paths" provides safe, walkable and Instagramable trails to wander as you explore downtown and meet your step count goal. You'll uncover hidden gems and iconic landmarks through custom paths, including the Dog Walk Path, Fitness Path and Public Art Path. Get your steps and see what makes downtown truly special with Paths!
Eat healthy
Eating out or cooking at home? Both can be healthy, especially in Downtown Arlington. Head over to Ann’s Natural Grocery & Nutrition to buy organic produce, health vitamins and good-for-you food and beverage items.
Local restaurants like Taipo and Namoo Korean Bowl offer feel-good foods with veggie and vegan options. Grease Monkey and Old School Pizza Tavern offer hearty, delicious, fresh salad options, along with other downtown restaurants. If you’re just looking for items to fit within your dietary restrictions, Inclusion Coffee offers gluten-free food items and alternative, non-dairy milk for beverages.
Shop local
Shopping local shouldn't just be a December, ahead-of-the-holidays thing! Carry on shopping local through 2025 in Downtown Arlington.
Local shops offer everything from clothing, home decor, gift ideas and unique art, including The Mosaic Market, Commodities, Wondrous Works Gift Shop and The Man’s Shop. Small businesses can also be found as vendors at local events, like our monthly First Thursdays, starting back up in February.
Spend time with loved ones
Downtown Arlington is full of weekly and monthly events, perfect for bringing the family together or meeting up with old friends.
Every first Thursday of the month (except January so you can recover from NYE) Downtown Arlington hosts an arts and community-driven event call First Thursdays. Arlington Music Hall and Theatre Arlington regularly host family-friendly shows. Even outside of Levitt Pavilion’s season, it regularly host markets and community events. If any of these event dates don’t work for you and your loved ones, Free Play and Cidercade are just a couple examples of daily family-fun in downtown.
Volunteer
Possibly the most valuable New Year resolution, volunteering can make a large impact on your community and positive impacts on the lives of others.
Mission Arlington is always looking for volunteers to support their mission of providing food, clothing and other necessities to community members. The company’s volunteer hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Email jim@missionarlington.org to get more information about volunteering.
If you are interested in volunteering for any upcoming Downtown Arlington events, email damc@downtownarlington.org.
