Downtown Arlington Opens Applications for 3rd Year of Summer Internship Program

Whether you’re graduating, just getting started, or don’t want to talk about it, this time of year comes with the dreadful question every student fears: “So what’s next?” Internships are a natural step in getting the most out of your college experience and preparing you for the future, which is why Downtown Arlington is bringing back their intern program for the third year in a row. 

Downtown Arlington’s summer internship returns, starting in the beginning of June! The role includes working in a team of six senior-level University of Texas at Arlington interns from a variety of degree programs to help serve the needs of the community while building real world experience. Prospects with experience in media production and management, architectural design, event organization and support, or research analytical skills are welcome to apply.  

Working for Downtown Arlington includes a fun, collaborative atmosphere with the chance to build and develop projects from the ground up in addition to balancing Downtown’s recurring tasks. This is the perfect environment for self-starters and big thinkers who are willing to extend past their comfort zones to craft a unique experience for Downtown enthusiasts. We encourage and provide ample opportunities for interns to leave the program with something personal that they can call their own, from ideation to execution. 

Many of the programming, designs, and events around the downtown district were crafted by interns from previous summers. Their work and impact have reached all corners of the community. In 2022, our internship team worked to improve the search engine optimization for Theatre Arlington and helped develop a social media plan for the Arlington Museum of Art before eventually working with them to execute these detailed plans. By simply partaking in the joys of Downtown Arlington, you’ve been exposed to the talents of UTA’s best and brightest.  

Our interns walk out the door with the confidence, skills, and training to get desirable jobs within the industries of their choice. Graduates from our team have grown to hold a range of career titles, such as Event and Engagement Specialist, Research Analyst, Marketing Specialist, Graphic Designer, and Content Writer. Many former members, despite officially exiting the program, continue to service the community in their own distinct capacities, such as the blog you’re reading at this very moment.
