Community Comes Together for the First Annual Michael Jarrett “Be Like Mike" Putting Competition

The first annual Michael Jarrett “Be Like Mike" Putting Competition presented by Worthington National Bank was a hole in one! Held on September 26 at Shady Valley Country Club, the light-hearted fun(d)raiser benefitted the recently-established Michael Jarrett Scholarship Fund. The scholarship, which will be awarded to UT Arlington students who exhibit strong leadership values, was created to honor Mike's legacy of leadership and passion for our community.

Over 120 people attended the Putting Competition, which raised over $5,000 for the worthy cause. Winners of the hole-in-one contests (and 12 months of bragging rights) were Max Richey, Jim Ashworth, Jim Maibach, and Mary Tom Cravens Curnutt

"It was amazing to see the community come together to celebrate a beloved figure and raise money in his honor," said Garret Martin, Downtown Arlington Community Development Manager and proud UTA alumnus. "We had a great time, and it was made all the more meaningful knowing that the funds would go towards a future leader in our community."

It's not too late! You can still DONATE to the Michael Jarrett Scholarship Fund.

The Michael Jarrett Scholarship was organized through a spirit of cooperation and passion for Arlington, just as Mike taught us. Partners include:
