What's Next in Downtown Arlington: October Monthly Update

October in Downtown Arlington will be a month full of live music, community fun, spooky surprises and creative energy. From unforgettable concerts to Halloween celebrations for both humans and pups, here’s what you can look forward to this month.

What’s Coming Up

First Thursday – Oct. 2

Downtown’s favorite monthly tradition returns from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 with an evening of art, culture, shopping and entertainment. This month brings some especially creative and seasonal activations you won’t want to miss:

  • Live Glass Blowing with The Grey Area Studio at Division Brewing
Prepare to be mesmerized as skilled artists from The Grey Area Studio transform molten glass into stunning works of art before your eyes. This live demonstration is a rare chance to experience the artistry and craft of glass blowing up close, while enjoying your favorite local brews.
  • Downtown Lens: A Guided Photo Walk with Arlington Camera
Grab your camera – whether it’s your phone or a DSLR – and join Arlington Camera for a guided photo walk through the vibrant scenes of First Thursday. From 5 to 8 p.m., meet the crew at City Center Plaza for expert tips on capturing street scenes, art and people. Afterward, participate in a friendly online contest for a chance to win a gift card! Registration is required and space is limited. Register Here.
  • Spooky Sidewalk Chalk Obstacle Course
City Center Plaza will be buzzing with Halloween vibes as families and friends tackle a festive chalk-drawn obstacle course. Don’t forget to add your own artistic touch in the Open Chalk Drawing Area, where everyone is invited to contribute to a massive community masterpiece.

First Thursday is the perfect way to start October in Downtown Arlington: creative, colorful and full of energy.
