Red, White and the Blues: The American Dream City welcomes Downtown Blues Festival

Singing the Blues!

Until this year, Arlington Texas was singing everything but the blues. But that’s about to change. Because on April 22-23, 2016, music lovers will experience the first-ever blues festival in the American Dream City: the Dream City Blues Festival in Downtown Arlington.

Festival founder Steve Moya said, “When the City of Arlington chose The American Dream City as the cornerstone of its branding initiative, the words ‘Dream City’ instantly jumped out at me. I knew that was the name for this event.”

Arlington's Musical Influence

Although the city is already chock-full of world-class music, there’s always room for more. In fact, the crescendo in Arlington can be heard in another Texas town just to our south.

"Arlington is quietly gaining on Austin as the live music capital of Texas,” said Tony Rutigliano, president and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation. “With talent, venues and traditions like the Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Music Hall, AT&T Stadium, Texas Live, UT Arlington, Center Stage Music Festival, and now the Dream City Blues Festival, Arlington is quickly becoming a go-to destination for live music in Texas."

The Festival Details

Throughout the two-day event, Dream City Blues Festival will feature live bands on one main stage. Performers include the 2015 International Blues Challenge winner and a Blues legend that has been performing since the mid 1970’s.

“We’re excited to bring such outstanding blues musicians to Arlington,” said Moya. “Together, they represent a broad range of blues styles that will appeal to everyone, whether you’ve been a fan of the blues for years or are new to it.”

Concert goers can enjoy even more than the music. The festival also offers a variety of food vendors and a marketplace with an eclectic collection of pop-up shops selling everything from arts & crafts to commercial products. Vendor opportunities are still available for both the food and marketplace areas.

General Admission, Party Tent, VIP Tent, Reserved Seating and Premium Reserved Seating ticket options are available. General Admission tickets start at $20, and all tickets are available through utatickets.com.

Dream City Blues Festival has premier sponsorships available for corporations, small businesses and other entities interested in reaching this unique audience.
