First Thursdays is a celebration of Downtown Arlington art and community where businesses partner with artists to show their creative spirit. Over 20 businesses were a part of the February “First Thursdays,” which ranged from live ice sculpting in the Rotary Dream Park to a guided drum circle, with art, music and activities in between!

Sold out guided tours of Kirk Franklin Studio gave attendees behind the scenes looks into the Grammy-winning artist’s state-of-the-art studio.

An interactive drum circle experience was led by Noah from Drum One, Drum All outside of Inclusion Coffee for attendees of all ages. This activity was funded in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

DJ Tone Hunts filled Ann’s Natural Grocery & Nutrition with tunes while attendees shopped and sampled Two Niles Elderberry Tonic and Resist Functional Protein Bars.

The Arlington Electro-Acoustic Ensemble accompanied an immersive light installation by Analog Fountain artists for Create Arlington at Wellspring On Main.

Wondrous Works Gift Shop offered a Valentine’s-themed Sip and Shop event with a 15% discount in return for a donation item of paper products for the Arlington Life Shelter.

Live Ice Sculpting at the new Rotary Dream Park was a popular attraction all night long with sculpture artists from Stellar Ice carving out love-themed displays. We hated seeing the beautiful sculptures melt so quickly!

Attendees celebrated Lunar New Year at Kung Fu Tea with a traditional Chinese red paper-cutting craft event.
