Downtown Arlington Welcomes UTA Summer Interns

Downtown Arlington is pleased to announce the appointment of six summer interns who will be supporting a variety of marketing and communications efforts for our Cultural District organizations, programs and activities. These outstanding students were recruited in partnership with The University of Texas at Arlington Mav Edge Intern program. We asked them to introduce themselves (below), and ask you to offer them a warm welcome to Downtown!

Chantay Best

As a senior at UTA, my major is Communication in Technology with a focus on UI/UX Design. Through my internship with Downtown Arlington, I will be applying my knowledge in web development and design to further bring together the overall experience of the Arlington Cultural District and enhance its visibility. Although my hometown is Houston, I’ve enjoyed helping out in the local Arlington community and have developed a passion for working with non-profits. With my degree, I would like to shine the light on more non-profits by providing efficient web-based solutions.

Brittany Jones

As a public relations senior at The University of Texas at Arlington, I've worked as an Engagement Producer at UTA's student newspaper, The Shorthorn, and have experience in social media and PR. I currently serve as the Director of PR for UTA's Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter and I enjoy editing videos in my free time.

Lillian Mechlem

As a musician and graphic designer, I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Music Business and minor in Digital Media Management from The University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to my internship with Downtown Arlington, I work as a teacher for The Creative Soul Music School in Fort Worth. My leadership roles include Secretary of The UTA Football Team and Student Manager for UTA Records, and I'm a contributing member to several organizations including ACDA (American Choral Directors Association), Hippocket Theatre, UTA Radio, and the UTA Honors College.

Jalen Robinzine

I'm an advertising major and broadcasting minor at The University of Texas at Arlington. I love writing and videography and anything having to do with either of those categories, so naturally my biggest interests are film and comic books. The advertising process has always fascinated me. It's fast-paced and chaotic, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm really looking forward to working with Downtown Arlington!

Sunshine Rodriguez

I'm a student at The University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in Visual Communications and minoring in Advertising. I specialize in designing digital graphics and illustrations. I am excited to learn the inner workings of Downtown Arlington and its amazing cultural partners!

Aaron Shipley

A photographer, musician, and graphic designer, I'm currently a sophomore at UTA majoring in Music Industry Studies with a minor in Business Management. Born and raised in Arlington, I'm passionate about the cultural arts and local businesses in our city, and I'm excited to support them as an intern for Downtown Arlington.
