Downtown Arlington Website Wins ADDY Award

The Downtown Arlington website, which was completely re-envisioned and launched just weeks before the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, was recently recognized with a bronze ADDY award from the American Advertising Federation-Ft. Worth chapter. The site was recognized for excellence in overall design and user experience.

AAF-Fort Worth held the American Advertising Awards virtual gala March 4 with about 150 in attendance. The creative theme of the competition and the event was “Bad Year, Great Work."

"Without a doubt, this year has stretched the boundaries of our profession," said the District leadership team in a virtual address. "With challenge comes solutions, and solutions are what, as an industry, we do best."

The next gen Downtown Arlington website serves as marketplace of resources for its stakeholders and boasts new branding, robust functionality, user-friendly search navigation, enriched storytelling of the District’s lively past and present, and member-generated content. The website was designed from the bottom up to serve the growing needs of Downtown and its many constituents. In addition to project leadership from DAMC staff, GeoCentric served as developers on the project; LJ Carter Creative, designer; Amy Schultz, copywriter.

“Even with the complex challenges brought on by the pandemic, Downtown Arlington continues to perservere and transform in so many positive ways,” said Maggie Campbell, President and CEO of the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation. "We were able to launch the new website at just the right moment, and it immediately became a critical communication hub for our District. It provides an indispensible platform for Downtown's diverse voices, and it also delivers a breadth and depth of information quickly."
