A Very Swiftie Summer: Taylor-Themed Activities All Summer Long

The Arlington Museum of Art’s new exhibit, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection, is now open and runs through the summer until September 24^th. Curated by the AMA from Swift’s own private collection, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection, presented by the HELP Center for LGBT Health & Wellness, features original costumes and photographs, plus a timeline and other visuals inspired by her creative eras. In addition to Taylor Swift, visitors can enjoy two sister exhibits, “Girl in a Country Song: Women of Country Music” and “Hometown Harmonies,” an exhibit that honors country music legends such as Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, and Arlington’s very own Maren Morris.

The exhibition has proven to be a viral sensation for all Swifties looking to gain a deeper understanding for the artist's decades-long career. People from all over the nation are coming to Downtown Arlington to connect with fellow fans as they get a behind-the-scenes look at what makes their favorite artist so special. After breaking records at the Arlington Museum of Art, "Taylor Fever" is spreading all the across the city. It should come to no surprise that other downtown businesses are joining in on the momentum.

To celebrate this fantastic exhibit, Downtown Arlington is launching “Downtown Eras,” a city-wide program commemorating the award-winning artist and her impact in the industry. From themed drinks to karaoke nights, businesses all around Downtown Arlington are getting involved to showcase their appreciation for Taylor. Downtown Eras is one of many cross-promotional programs built from the relationship between Downtown Arlington and the Arlington Museum of Art. Previous exhibits include the medieval “A Knight’s Tale” art exhibition and “Disney Art from Private Collections,” an art exhibition featuring hundreds of original, hand-drawn animation sketches, drawings, storyboards, models, and more. During the duration of these collections, Downtown bars, restaurants, and businesses found different ways to connect with one another through art.
