Santa Claus is coming to (Down)town!
The holiday season is upon us, and Downtown Arlington is gearing up for a truly magical event that is sure to bring smiles and festive cheer to the whole family.
From now until December 5, a bright red mailbox reading “Letters to Santa” will be in front of the Downtown Arlington Public Library.
This event is part of Downtown Arlington’s December First Thursdays, a monthly community celebration that always brings something special. After meeting Santa and dropping off their letters, families can enjoy live music from UTA Jazz on the Levitt stage, browse the Holiday Market and explore the walkable Downtown Arlington area. It’s the perfect time to shop locally and discover unique gifts while supporting Arlington’s vibrant small businesses.
Starting Monday, November 18, the Downtown Arlington Public Library has set up a special letter-writing table where kids can craft their wish lists, holiday notes and special requests for Santa. Santa’s red mailbox is now stationed at the library, ready to collect all the letters that children want to send off to the North Pole!
The excitement builds toward our highly anticipated, annual Letters to Santa event on December 5. As part of our First Thursdays, Santa himself will make a special appearance at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington Hospitality Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Families can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, take a selfie and get in the holiday spirit with an array of festive activities.
During this event, cheerful Library elves will be on hand to assist children with their letters. They’ll help guide little ones through the joyful process of writing their letters, ensuring they are addressed to Santa correctly and ready to be mailed. The elves are ready to make the letter-writing experience as festive as possible, helping kids feel the magic of the season.
