Magical Nights, Music, and Multicultural Celebrations are just three reasons we’re loving the Levitt in 2022
Grab your folding chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and coolers, because the Levitt Pavilion Arlington is bringing their A+ game in 2022 with a magical and multicultural musical line-up!
The 2022 free concert series takes place May 6 through July 16, then resumes Labor Day and runs through mid-October. Long-time Levitt fans as well as newcomers to the venue will enjoy the diversity of genres night after night, including world music, jazz, Texas country, indie rock, Tejano, R&B, and more.
On opening weekend, the Levitt live music series kicks off with a two-day lineup of concerts featuring headliners Gary Hobbs (Tejano), and Billy Dean (country), along with opening acts by local artists Conjunto Baraja de Oro (Tejano/Conjunto) and Brent Alexander.
What's new in '22
New this year is a three-part Arlington multicultural festival series, including the Arlington Asian Heritage Celebration on May 15; the Arlington Juneteenth Celebration on June 18, and an Hispanic Heritage Celebration in the fall. Produced in collaboration with the Mayor’s Asian Advisory Council, the Arlington Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, and the Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council, each festival will feature concerts, music, and movement performances, cultural cuisine and more, with no charge for admission.
“As always, the Levitt season offers something for everyone, plus opportunities to discover new-to-you favorite genres and performers, in a beautiful setting where people from all walks of life can enjoy free live music in the heart of the city,” said Letatia Teykl, Levitt Executive Director. “This season, we’re especially looking forward to special events like our multicultural series, the Boston/Journey show in June, and to making friends with new fans who have yet to enjoy the Levitt experience.”
Additionally, a ticketed show featuring Tommy DeCarlo and “American Idol” star Rudy Cardenas performing the music of Boston and Journey is set for June 25. Proceeds from ticketed events such as this generate funds to support the venue’s free concert series. On Labor Day weekend, you won't want to miss the show featuring The New Respects, who are coming to Arlington as a part of the national Levitt Foundation's musical tour.
Downtown Arlington is a proud sponsor of the Levitt Pavilion.
“More than ever, Downtown Arlington is a magnet for the arts,” said Maggie Campbell, President and CEO of Downtown Arlington, “and the Levitt is our musical epicenter. They are leaders in their industry through their commitment to incredibly high production value, accessibility, diverse programming, and awesome musical talent.”
Levitt Pavilion, which has been a signature performing arts destination in Downtown Arlington for nearly 15 years, presents more than 50 free outdoor concerts annually.
Headliners are sought-after, professional acts and artists, many of them Grammy Award winners. Opening acts represent emerging talent and local musicians as part of the Levitt’s “Share the Stage” initiative promoting North Texas talent.
