Light Up Arlington is the biggest event in Downtown Arlington, drawing anywhere from 50,000 to 70,000 people to downtown each year. Every year the streets come alive for pedestrians to take over the streets of downtown to enjoy entertainment all night long. With several stages for a variety of live music, games and activities for the whole family, and a multitude of bars, restaurants, and eateries at your disposal, Light Up Arlington is THE event to visit each Independence Day season.

Though Light Up Arlington typically takes place the day before Arlington’s famous Independence Day Parade on July 4^th, this year’s celebration has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 29^th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the weekend before the parade. The change was made to better accommodate the Arlington Police Department's capacity due to major events in Arlington that same week, including a 6-game Texas Rangers homestand and the Copa America soccer tournament.

Light Up Arlington 2024

Light Up Arlington festivities, which are free and open to the public, start at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29^th and take place over the 64 acres surrounding City Hall, the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, Urban Union, and the Vandergriff Town Center. Bands will be performing on key stages around Downtown, including the Arlington Music Hall, the Municipal Office Tower, the "Boomtown" stage located in the Grease Monkey parking lot, and the Levitt Pavilion, where Donavan Keith will be headlining at 8:30 p.m. with Kiara Mullins & Crash Through The Floor opening the show at 7:30 p.m. 

You’ll also be able to shop from local vendors, food trucks, and the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, a market geared towards providing kids with real-world experience in creating goods, packaging them for sale, attracting customers, and handling money. The event concludes with a special firework display above the Municipal Office Tower beginning at 9:50 p.m. More information to be announced at a later date.
