"Gears of Progress": Reserve Your Table Today for the Downtown Arlington 2022 Annual Meeting on July 20

The gears are always turning in Downtown Arlington. Always have been. Always will be.

As the Arlington Cultural District, Downtown gears of originality turn in the hearts of the artists who come here to find inspiration within themselves and in community with each other.

As a Business Improvement District, Downtown gears of visualization turn in the heads of our entrepreneurs and investors, who came to our district to turn their big ideas into realities, and realities into the next round of big ideas.

As home to City government, Downtown gears of public service turn community needs into master plans into action.

As the “college town” within our City, Downtown gears of innovation turn in research labs, studios, and classrooms across the University of Texas at Arlington campus. And when a UTA student becomes an alumnus who builds a career or business in Downtown, they energize us not only with their expertise but their Maverick and hometown pride.

Individually, each gear turns out an incredible amount of positive energy. Ah, but when the gears in Downtown Arlington join forces? They not only discover how well they are in sync but the incredible momentum they generate by working, playing, living, and learning together.

There’s nothing like the gears of progress in Downtown Arlington.

Save the Date! "Gears of Progress": 2022 Downtown Arlington Annual Meeting

Gears of Progress, the theme for our 2022 Annual Meeting, celebrates the unique power of interconnectivity found in Downtown Arlington! Presented by Texas Trust Credit Union, Gears of Progress will be held on the UT Arlington campus Wednesday, July 20 from 11:00am – 1:30pm.

Save the date and get your table now, because you won’t want to miss the all-star line-up and five-star facilities. If you haven’t been on campus since the pandemic, you’ll be blown away by UTA’s recent renovation of the University Center and Bluebonnet Ballroom. Before lunch begins, be sure to take a stroll through our Downtown history walk which highlights how our district has always been at the heart of innovation for our community.

Our salute to the "Gears of Progress"  includes a panel discussion, led by our President and CEO Maggie Campbell. Panelists include Arlington Mayor Jim Ross and Dr. Jennifer Cowley, newly appointed President of the University of Texas at Arlington. They’ll discuss the significance of major milestones achieved in Downtown throughout the last 20 years – including the Levitt Pavilion, College Park District, Abram Street revitalization, Urban Union, UT Arlington’s Tier One status, and more – plus they’ll discuss ongoing investments and how we’ll further activate our community’s vision as detailed in the Downtown Arlington Master Plan.

Honoring Maverick Excellence and Downtown Leaders

In honor of our 2022 Annual Meeting host, be sure to wear your best UTA blue and orange to show off your Maverick pride! During our program, we’re planning a special salute to all UT Arlington alumni whose businesses and creative practices are located here.

Another highlight at our Annual Meeting will be the presentation of our Legendary Lionheart Award, Golden Lantern Award, and the highly-anticipated Dream Builder Award, which honors outstanding leadership and contributions to the community. Who do you think will be honored this year? At last year’s annual meeting, we were proud to recognize Wally Hardin with the Man's Shop, Arlington Life Shelter, and our 2021 Dream Builder, former Mayor Jeff Williams for their contributions to Downtown Arlington and our City.
