"Dream Big Downtown" Panel and Awards Presentation Headline the 2021 Downtown Arlington Annual Meeting

Dream Big Downtown, the theme for Downtown Arlington’s 2021 Annual Meeting presented by Texas Trust Credit Union, compels us to visualize how the impossible can become inevitable when we allow creativity, authenticity, and hometown pride thrive and drive what's next.

DREAM BIG WITH US!    

Dream Big Downtown will take place outdoors from 8:00-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1 outdoors at the Sanford House. Headlining the program is a conversation about community reinvention post-COVID19 with a special “Dream Big” panel of local stakeholders. On the verge of a breakthrough moment, our downtown is becoming more walkable, more enjoyable, and more livable. But what's missing? How do we foster sustainable downtown revitalization while harnessing the power of dreaming big and the passion of our community? Moderated by Maggie Campbell, President and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation, panelists include Michael Jacobson, President and CEO of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Kim Mayer, Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Innovation at UT Arlington; Carolyn Mentesana, Executive Director of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation; Jerry Shirer, owner of Rita's Italian Ice and Frozen Custard; and Georgie Zang, co-founder of Zang-Adams Real Estate.

"Downtown Arlington is known for its we’re-all-in-this-together approach," said Maggie Campbell, President and CEO. "We came together during the worst of the pandemic, and now we’re excited about the optimism and momentum returning to our downtown."

In addition to the panel discussion, Downtown Arlington will announce the winners of the Legendary Lionheart Award, Golden Lantern Award, and the highly-anticipated Dream Builder Award, which honors outstanding leadership and contributions to the community.
