Downtown Arlington’s First Thursdays are where the arts and community gather
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again — FIRST THURSDAYS ARE THE NIGHT TO BE IN DOWNTOWN ARLINGTON!
Grab the family and text the group chat EVERY first Thursday of the month! Enjoy a once-a-month evening of live music, artistic experiences, and exploration at your favorite downtown businesses.
The first installation of this new event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3. Events and specials will be announced two weeks ahead of each event, so you can plan out your evening of fun. You can go in any order, but here’s one suggested itinerary to follow when enjoying our first "First Thursdays” on Oct. 3.
Start your journey with our featured attraction of this First Thursdays for Salsa at the Gardens at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for free salsa lessons at City Center Plaza in front of the Downtown Library! Presented by Levitt Pavilion Arlington, this event is beginner-friendly and welcomes all ages!
Head to The Sanford House for “Sunset Yoga in the Courtyard.” From 6 to 7 p.m., enjoy this complimentary session to enjoy the fall weather on DFW’s largest outdoor patio.
The new Mosaic Market on West Street will be hosting Coffee & Zentangle. Grab a free cup of coffee and enjoy a guided Zentangle workshop where you'll learn basic patterns and techniques to create beautiful, intricate drawings.
At Kung Fu Tea, you can join or watch a Halloween Cake Decorating Class. Learn from a professional cake decorator and create your own frightful masterpiece. SIGN-UP HERE
Down Abram Street, Taipo will host Nepalese Nights. Enjoy specialty cocktails, live music, and a taste of Nepalese culture.
You’ll also find The Chosen One Ink Tattoo hosting an Open Gallery featuring a curated collection of art work by local and international artists. Those who stop by can enter a raffle for a chance to win a special prize!
In the Vandergriff Town Center, you’ll find downtown’s newest salon, The Howse Salon, which will host Sip & Style. Bring your friends and family and learn tips and tricks to style your hair with Shibui products.
Before calling it a night, swing by The Fools Kava House for Open Mic Night or stop into F6 Art Gallery & Lounge for an Artist Showcase & Open Jam. Enjoy local musicians and unique drinks!
Bringing the kids?
There will be plenty of family-friendly activities! Make your way to Center Street to explore Creative Corner in the Arlington Public Library for a fun and educational evening. Explore 3D-printed sugar skulls and unleash your creativity by painting them in vibrant colors.
Take a stroll to Abram Street and find Ann’s Natural Grocery and their Live Window Painting! The store windows will be live painted in a vibrant fall-themed design. Division Brewing will provide supplies for attendees to Paint a Mini Pumpkin. Be sure to grab a bite from Division Pizza after!
Grease Monkey Burgers will be hosting Coloring Downtown! Witness a live chalk artist create stunning masterpieces, and color in some chalk outlines yourself. J. Gilligan’s will have Halloween face painting from 6 to 7 p.m. and Halloween coloring pages!
