Best free concerts in the Metroplex return with Levitt Pavilion’s fall season

When music can be heard down Abram Street, the 101Center parking garage is nearly full, and there’s a buzz about which awesome artist will hit the stage next, you know the Levitt Pavilion season is back!

Recently recognized by D Magazine for Best of Big D for 2024, Levitt Pavilion Arlington is a beloved, outdoor music venue that was built in the heart of downtown Arlington in 2008 and presents over 50 free concerts a year. This incredible honor is a testament to the amazing community, talented artists, and dedicated staff that make every concert at Levitt Pavilion unforgettable. Built through a public-private partnership, the community came together to build the Levitt and now comes together every weekend to enjoy all it has to offer!

Free concerts resume Labor Day weekend at Levitt Pavilion Arlington, beginning with a show headlined by legendary Texas outlaw country, Americana artist Ray Wylie Hubbard on Friday, August 30. Other headliners set to take the Levitt stage on opening weekend are the legendary doo-wop act, The Drifters, on August 31 and the internationally acclaimed world music act Jenny and the Mexicats on September 1.

“Between the crisp fall evenings and the stellar music lineup, the Levitt fall series is sure to delight both returning and new fans,” said Letatia Teykl, executive director of the Levitt non-profit and venue. “We’re starting strong with Ray Wylie Hubbard—who has recently collaborated with the likes of Willie Nelson, Wynonna, and James McMurtry—and finishing on high note with Jay Perez at the Hispanic Heritage Celebration, Aaron Watson at Do Good Fest, and the Asian Heritage Celebration. With a car show alongside the Ruben Ramos concert, classic rock tribute bands, a jazz concert, and more, it’s eight weekends of diverse music genres, cool moments, and high-quality productions—all free in downtown Arlington.”

The Arlington Amplified Concert on September 8 will feature Arlington-based Americana act The Vintage Yell and other local artists in support of Arlington’s designation as a Texas Music Friendly Community.

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration will return October 5, headlined by Tejano star Jay Perez and featuring a vendor market, mariachi music, and more!

National Life Group presents Do Good Fest Texas on October 12 with admission benefitting Parkland Health’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Program. The festival will be headlined by country star Aaron Watson with opening acts from Carson Jeffrey, Catie Offerman, and September Moon.

The Asian Heritage Celebration returns October 19 with a colorful festival featuring music, dance performances, cultural cuisine, and more.

All concerts are free, except for Do Good Fest with a $5 admission price to benefit the Parkland Health Foundation.

The fall series marks the conclusion of Levitt’s 2024 concert season, which began in April. Following the series, the Levitt will serve as the venue for some post-season events, including the Momo Festival on November 2 and entertainment for the Arlington Holiday Lights Parade on December 14, before resuming its free concert series next spring.

Levitt concerts typically take place on Friday and Saturday evenings, with some Sunday night shows. Most shows start at 7 pm, but concertgoers should check Levitt’s website and social media for any schedule changes. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, and coolers are welcome, or guests can visit any of the delicious vendors from the Levitt’s food truck fleet.

Fill your coolers, pack your lawn chairs, and head down to the Levitt Pavilion Arlington starting August 30 to listen to live performances of many different styles. Visit the many local bars and restaurants downtown Arlington is home to after the show!
