#SaveTheTacos and Vote for Arlington’s Favorite Taco!

Earlier this year, the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau started a rallying cry to #SaveTheTacos.

You may be asking yourself, “What does saving tacos have to do with visiting Arlington?” 

According to the Arlington CVB, 798,000,000 vacation days are wasted in a year. That’s almost a billion bands unheard, sights unseen, memories never made, and tacos that are never savored! So the ACVB decided to challenge locals and visitors alike to do something about it. They asked us to PROMISE to use our personal time off to hear every band and see every sight.

#SaveTheTacos Contest

Arlington restaurants have created specialty tacos that will compete for the title of Arlington’s Favorite Taco. The contest runs from from August 20 – September 30. And guess who'll be the judge?

YOU, with your out-of-the-box-unconventional-taco connoisseur tastebuds, will decide who the title should be bestowed upon. Are you up for the challenge? (Of course you are.)

While the competition is fierce throughout Arlington, we in Downtown Arlington are partial to four particularly delicious varietals, invented and presented right here in Downtown:
      

The Eclipse – Hershey’s Palace Pizza Wangs and Thangs

Cripsy taco shell, rib tips, special coleslaw, cheese sticks, kosher pickle slices, avocado, onions, jalapeños and a side of spicy salsa and sour cream:

Lightly fried flour tortilla with banana pudding, brûléed bananas and cinnamon sugar ice cream:

The Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau will be announcing the #SaveTheTacos winner on October 4 which is -- what else? -- NATIONAL TACO DAY! Not only will the winning restaurant receive bragging rights and glory, but the ACVB will buy a taco for the first 50 customers.
