Timlightyear (Timothy Allen) had crafted his reputation as the penultimate jack of all trades of the Texas music scene, adding his guitar chops, harmony vocals, producing skills and songwriting to a myriad of artists over the last decade. His most recent and personal iteration is as a songwriter and performer under his own name, fast becoming a coveted ticket in the live form and adding to his own repertoire as a producer with his recordings. Alongside Nathan Galvin and Ryan Stogner, the trio is quickly making waves in the Texas music scene. His most recent effort strips away the expected layers of accompaniment and showcases the substance in lyricism and melody that set him apart from the crowd. Recorded simultaneously with full band sessions in Dallas, TX, “Travelin Lite” is sure to not only stand alone as one of the must listen albums of the year but also only further increases the anticipation for Tim’s upcoming full length album.
