Details
(8:00pm) The Peterson Brothers combine infectious energy and modern grooves with jazz, funk, blues and soul to create their own unique sound. For a decade the Texas natives have been building a fan base across America, playing both classic funk and soul, and their original music includes jam-band style improvisation by Glenn Jr. on vocals and guitar, and Alex on bass, vocals and violin. The brothers love for classic Funk, Soul, and Blues music was born when their mother and grandmother brought home a crate of assorted albums and turntable from a garage sale. The Peterson Brother learned to play to listening to artists like The Isley Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Brothers Johnson, and B.B. King; from then, they created their own stage. They've also opened for legendary artists including Gary Clark Jr,. Kenny Wayne Shephard, Jesse Johnson (The Time), Willie Nelson, B.B. King, New power Generation (Prince' longtime band), Buddy Guy and more. We are excited to welcome The Peterson Brothers back to the Levitt stage!
(7:00pm) Igimèjí is an alt-R&B band from Arlington, Texas. Officially formed in 2018 by Ladi Oyediran (guitar, vocal) and Kayla Scales (keyboard, vocal), Igimèjí's sound ranges from vibrant and sunny, to cool and funky. They released their first major work this past summer, an EP, entitled Two Trees, an earthy, yet sparkling approach to pop, R&B and rock and roll. With the help of Jelen Farrow (drums) and Aaron Payton (bass, backing vocal), the band has performed at various clubs, bars, festivals, lounges, museums, and live music venues all across DFW, as well as in Austin, and in New York City.
