Monica Saldivar, the Tejano Music Awards “Best New Female Artist” winner is a Grand Prairie, TX native who also won the Austin-based nationwide singing competition, Tejano Idol in 2015 is one of the hottest up and coming vocalists in the Tejano genre. Along with having locked down regular rotation throughout Tejano airwaves. From July 2020 – November 2020, Monica was the face of the “New Tejano” Spotify Editorial playlists and has been featured on the “Novedades Regional Mexicano” Spotify Editorial playlists which has helped expand her following.

She is a 2012 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as well as a 2017 graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a major in Music Business / Vocal Performance and a Grammy U member throughout her college career. As of July 2020, she officially became a dual voting member for the Recording Academy and the Latin Grammys.

Monica’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album was released at the end of 2019 to rave reviews by many radio and industry insiders calling the release, “one of the best albums by a new artist in a very long time,” (Program director Dj Homie Marco from KXTN San Antonio, TX – Univision Radio) and “simply worth the wait,” by Tejano Nation. It features an ensemble of multi-Grammy award-winning songwriters & producers along with special guest musicians which results in a product filled with some of the best talent that the Tejano genre has to offer.
