Big Sam’s Funky Nation is bringing Mardi Gras to Arlington, TX! With over 20 year experience entertaining crowds, this band has developed a loyal following and released five fan favorite albums. Big Sam ensures you are not just at another show, but you are “a part of the show dancing and singing along.” Funk is served hot by Big Sam’s Funky Nation and we welcome you to join the party!
Opening Artist (7:30pm): Igimèjí
Igimèjí is an alt-R&B band from Arlington, Texas. Officially formed in 2018 by Ladi Oyediran (guitar, vocal) and Kayla Scales (keyboard, vocal), Igimèjí’s sound ranges from vibrant and sunny, to cool and funky. They released their first major work this past summer, an EP, entitled Two Trees, an earthy, yet sparkling approach to pop, R&B and rock and roll. With the help of Jelen Farrow (drums) and Aaron Payton (bass, backing vocal), the band has performed at various clubs, bars, festivals, lounges, museums, and live music venues all across DFW, as well as in Austin, and in New York City.
