The 2024 Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show

Rev up your motors and join us on this journey through time as we showcase and show off classic and antique cars from across the decades! Taking place on Saturday, June 1^st from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the 2024 Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show will celebrate half a century of restored, maintained, and beloved vehicles from the past and bring out car owners from all over the state to connect with the community through a shared admiration of classic automobiles.

Located in the Vandergriff Town Center, the show will feature over 150 classic and antique cars from the 1920s to the late 1970s along with live music, food vendors, and activities and games for the whole family to enjoy. After the show, be sure to stick around and enjoy all the food, fun, and entertainment located nearby both within walking distance of the car show, such as Hurtado Barbecue, Cidercade, and Cartel Taco, and south of Front St., such as J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill, Theatre Arlington, and the Levitt Pavilion.

Last year’s event was a huge success, drawing in more than 3,000 visitors of all ages to Downtown Arlington and showcasing over 120 classic cars. Each year, this event gets bigger and better with more cars, more entertainment, and more connectivity between businesses.

With the car show taking place right outside the doors of the historic Vandergriff Building, all roads lead back to the “Bankhead Highway” (known today as Division Street), the once revered roadway connecting the country literally and figuratively through the love of classic automobiles.

Historians remember the Vandergriff Building, affectionately referred to as the “Historic V,” as the heart of the city where one could visit, grab a seat by the window, and wave to Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and Sam Rayburn as their motorcades came to Arlington. The Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show not only celebrates this almost 100-year history, but it also honors the great progress of vehicle transportation and the car enthusiasts working to keep history alive.

If you or someone you know owns a classic car, registration is now open to enter the show. From now until March 31^st, register your vehicle for the early bird price of $20. We invite all car enthusiasts to enter, however, vehicles manufactured after 1979 are not allowed. Proceeds from entry registration will be donated to the Arlington Police Foundation, charitable partner for the 2024 Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show.

Vehicles that have been modified, other than new parts to keep the car running, are not allowed as well. Basic cosmetic changes, such as wheels, stereo, engine dress-up kits, etc., may be considered. Don’t miss the award ceremony at the end of the show where we’ll be awarding the Top 10 vehicles along with the People’s Choice and Mayor’s Choice Awards.
