Ten Years of Caring: Arlington GIVES! and North Texas Giving Day: Sept. 20
Making a personal commitment to philanthropy, such as volunteering at Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex or contributing a Symphony Arlington funds drive, can make a big difference. Multiply that individual commitment by the number of members within a community and exponential change is possible.
Now imagine all that generosity channeled through one comprehensive, simultaneous philanthropic campaign. That's the 10th annual North Texas Giving Day.
Amplify your giving
Presented by Communities Foundation of Texas, North Texas Giving Day is taking place all across DFW on Thursday, September 20, 2018 between 6:00 a.m. and midnight. During that time, Communities Foundation of Texas will partially match donations made through northtexasgivingday.org and distribute $50,000 in additional grants earmarked for Arlington-based non-profits.
You can log on right now and schedule your gift in advance.
“North Texas Giving Day is the chance for the region to shine a hot spotlight on the power and promise of philanthropy,” said Carolyn Mentesana, executive director of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation. “For more than ten years, this 18-hour event has proven what is possible when we focus our collective efforts — and our financial resources — on the causes we believe make a difference in our lives and benefit those around us.”
Join the Celebration: Arlington GIVES!
In Arlington, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation and the Levitt Pavilion are once again teaming up to host the largest of the North Texas Giving Day celebrations, Arlington GIVES! The event kicks off on Sept. 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Levitt Pavilion.
Arlington GIVES! includes food trucks, a showcase of Arlington charities participating in North Texas Giving Day, special grant presentations, and a truly unique opportunity to amplify your support. At the Arlington GIVES! event, you can vote for your favorite charity to receive a $10,000 People’s Choice grant donated by the Gene & Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation.
Don’t forget your lawn chairs, because following the program you’ll be treated to a free concert by Grammy-winning legendary blues guitarist, Jimmie Vaughan. Now that’s a party!
Here’s the schedule:
- 6:00 p.m. Food trucks available
- 6:30 p.m. Nonprofit showcase and People’s Choice voting
