Tap into Arlington on Zoom with National Medal of Honor COO Jim Connors
In Fall 2015, the infinitely curious journalist, author and proud Arlingtonian O.K. Carter launched a series of casual and compelling conversations called Arlington On Tap. Always hosted in a Downtown Arlington bar or restaurant, the series has attracted thousands of attendees over the years to hear thought-provoking tales and talks on a variety of hot local topics.
As the presenting sponsor of Arlington on Tap, Downtown Arlington is proud to carry on that tradition even in a world of social distancing.
Held on the second Tuesday of the month, the 2020-21 Arlington on Zoom begins October 13 with one of our favorite guests, journalist and Eats Beats columnist Bud Kennedy. We can’t wait to hear what he has to say about the brave new world of running a restaurant during a pandemic, his favorite comfort food, and the indomitable creativity of restaurateurs.
The next Arlington on Zoom will take place Tuesday, November 10 with National Medal of Honor Museum COO Jim Connors. The city has been abuzz about the National Medal of Honor Museum, our soon-to-be neighbor, ever since October 2019 when Arlington, Texas was chosen as the Museum's future home at the conclusion of a 5-year nationwide search that included Denver, New York City, San Diego, and Washington, D.C. The Museum is projected to open in 2024. Joining Jim will be NMHM Director of Strategic Initiatives and Community Relations Amber Zuckerman.
Arlington on Zoom will begin at 6:30pm for 30 minutes of networking with the program starting at 7:00 p.m. Find the Zoom details here. And if Zoom isn't your style, you can also catch the program live-streamed on our Downtown Arlington TX Facebook Live starting at 7:00 p.m.
We’ll take a break in December and resume Arlington on Zoom in January 2021. Before you tune in, don’t forget to check Downtown Delivers for Zoom-watching flavors courtesy of your favorite Downtown Arlington restaurants.
