Take Out Tuesday Suggests: STEAK and BBQ
In celebration of the unique flavors found throughout Downtown Arlington, you’re invited to support local restaurants by ordering Take Out every Tuesday. This week, we suggest steak... because you're in TEXAS, y'all.
Where's the Beef?
Check out these five-star Yelp ratings that perfectly describe our own experiences at some of our favorite Downtown dining destinations known for either great steak dinners or award-winning barbecue:
Candlelight Inn
1202 E. Division St.
I can honestly say, without hesitation, that the Candlelite Inn is my favorite restaurant in the world. I'm from Southern California, but every time I am in the Fort Worth area, I make multiple stops here. Why? Well, I've never had even an ordinary meal here--everything is outstanding, from the glazed pork chops (my favorite) and the amazing steaks to the burgers and the to-die-for homemade desserts. The service is great as well. Can't wait to go back! - John B. on Yelp
Hurtado Barbecue
205 E. Front St.
By far hands down the best BBQ in Arlington IMO. You know it's good when you can't make up your mind which meat you want to get because they're all amazing and flawless in their own way. The El Hefe came through again, easy choice for all those who suffer from indecisiveness... Their burnt ends are always amazing, the brisket is to die, and I always get an extra pound. I'm starting to dig their chopped brisket too, ribs are smoked and rubbed with enough flavor to ditch the sauce. I can keep going on, but get the El Hefe and and beef rib if they aren't sold out out! - Emet D. on Yelp
Restaurant506
Sanford House Inn and Spa
506 N Center St.
Valentine's Dinner was our first experience here and won't be our last. We ordered from the fixed Valentine's menu and we both tried different appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and we loved them all. I assumed it would be "fancy" food with small portions but that was definitely not the case. Presentation was lovely. Portions were large, creative, and most importantly, delicious. Craft cocktails were unique and very good. Service was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful evening! - Laura H. on Yelp
Relax on the Patio(s)
If you want to dine "out" but don't want to "take out" your steak dinner, Restaurant506 and Hurtado Barbecue have the solution. Patios! While each are complete opposites in terms of style and decor, both of these restaurant patios are at the top of our patio-perfect list. The elegant wrap-around porch at the Sanford House Inn and Spa provides the foundation for the patio experience at Restaurant506, while picnic tables and a bright new mural punctuate the Hurtado patio experience. Keeping the Candlelite Burning
"The Candlelite Inn restaurant is a part of history in Arlington, Texas. Established in 1957 it was the first restaurant to offer pizza in Arlington. When the restaurant was in the small rock building next to the existing structure all they served was tacos, pizza, beer, and soft drinks. In 1964 the larger building was put up and the legacy of Steaks, Tex-Mex, Italian entrees, and the coldest mugs of beer anywhere around began. The restaurant has gone through only three families in fifty years. The present owners Alan and Bonnie Petsche rebuilt the original 1964 building between 2012 and 2014. The only part of the original building that could be saved were the exterior walls. The challenge began on the reverse engineering of the new building and ran into several road blocks but the persistence to get the job done and done correctly prevailed." - Excerpted from the Candlelight Inn Facebook page
