South Street Art Festival Returns to Downtown Arlington October 8-10

Here's a great idea for spending time in the Arlington Cultural District (aka Downtown Arlington): the 8th annual South Street Art Festival!

The South Street Art Festival returns to Downtown Arlington this Friday through Sunday, October 8-10, 2021. Artists will line South Street from Elm to Jefferies Street with booth after booth of their creations. Start your holiday shopping early and discover one-of-a-kind gifts for your family and friends (and yourself) at Downtown’s longest-running fine art festival.

SSAF artisans hail from all around Texas and beyond, and are excited to show and sell their one-of-a-kind pieces including ceramics, drawings, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and woodwork.

As you browse, enjoy great live music by popular local bands. When you work up thirst or an appetite, just pop in to Downtown's many nearby restaurants and pubs.

Transportation Options

While you're visiting Downtown Arlington, we invite you to explore all that our Cultural District has to offer! If you don't feel like walking, here are three of our most popular rideshare options:

VIA city-wide rideshare: VIA Rideshare is an inexpensive, public transit ride-share that also serves the entire city of Arlington and the CentrePort TRE station. Just download the app to your phone, sign up, and get a ride. VIA does not operate 24 hours a day, so please visit this website for current hours of service and per-ride cost.

Rideshare in Downtown Arlington: RAPID is a self-driving vehicle service that can also get you around Downtown Arlington. Simply call RAPID through the VIA app. Although RAPID is an autonomous service, you’ll be accompanied by a May Mobility expert on every ride. If you’re a UT Arlington student, you can access VIA and RAPID services at a discounted rate and even get your first few rides for free!

Hail a ride: Lyft and Uber provide service throughout the city.
