Nice to Meet You! Introducing Doug Hafer, Downtown Arlington Board of Directors

As the governing body for the Downtown Arlington Business Improvement District (BID), our Board of Directors represents the diverse interests found within our vibrant community. Each member of our Board brings incredible insights to our planning and programming, and we're proud to serve beside them. In our new Q&A series, Nice to Meet You, we look forward to introducing you to each of our Directors.

We're beginning Nice to Meet You by chatting with Doug Hafer, one of the new members of our Board. Doug is Partner and Co-Founder of Curnutt & Hafer LLP.

Curnutt & Hafer was founded in 2000 by Kelly Curnutt and Doug Hafer. With their years of experience and success in handling complex commercial litigation as well as personal injury and death cases, the partners have an established practice that provides clients both big firm expertise and an individualized approach. The partners and their team expanded and moved their Arlington office to Downtown earlier this year.

Downtown Arlington: What 1-3 things do you like most about Downtown Arlington?

Doug: I like the the energy of being in Downtown, listening to the Levitt sound checks from my office, and being on the 4th of July and Christmas parade routes.

DA: Name a leader in our community who inspires you.

Doug: My partner, Kelly Curnutt. He loves Arlington and really works to make our community better.  He’s never met an unrequited service opportunity!

Doug:  As a lawyer, I am privileged to help people.

DA:  What inspired you to move your businesses/invest in Downtown Arlington?

Doug:  My wife Vicki and I enjoy hiking. We have done Big Bend a number of times. We have also taken great trips to the Guadalupe Mountains; McKittrick Canyon is a must see in the early November time frame, especially the beautiful maples changing colors.

DA: When you're out for drinks in Downtown, what is your favorite cocktail and where is your favorite spot to order it?

Doug:  Favorite beverage – bourbon on the rocks.  Favorite Spot – Van Gogh Bar at Restaurant 506.

DA:  When you think about a bright future for Downtown, what one thing do you think will contribute most to its long-term success?

Doug:  Continued development of office, residential, retail and restaurants that allow people to live, work, shop and play Downtown.

DA:  Most important, what's your Texas Rangers walk-on song?
