Downtown Arlington Welcomes UT Arlington Summer 2022 Interns
Downtown Arlington is pleased to announce the appointment of ten 2022 summer interns who will be supporting a variety of marketing and communications efforts for our Cultural District organizations, programs, and activities. These outstanding students were recruited in partnership with The University of Texas at Arlington Mav Edge Intern program. We asked them to introduce themselves (below), and ask you to offer them a warm welcome to Downtown!
Sarah Banafe
Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a senior Economics and Finance student at the University of Texas at Arlington. One thing I love about the community at UTA is how diverse it is – which is very representative of our city. I look forward to working with and through the Downtown organization to build a bridge between my peers at UTA and the community in Downtown Arlington.
Darbi Bradberry
My name is Darbi Bradberry, and I'm a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Visual Communication Design. I've been a student at UTA since January 2020. I grew up in Florence, Alabama, but moved to Arlington in 2016 with my family and have lived in the DFW area ever since. I think Arlington is truly such a special place with so much diversity and potential, so I am very excited to dive into working on projects to make this home of mine even better than it already is.
Marcus Coleman
My name is Marcus Coleman, and I'm from Whitewright, a small town in north Texas. I started at the University of Texas at Arlington in the fall of 2018, and now I'm a senior majoring in management. Some of my interests include watching soccer and spending time with family and friends. My future career goals include becoming a marketing manager for an international company.
Aileen Dang
My name is Aileen Dang, and I'm a Business Marketing major at UTA. I'm going into my third and final year at UTA, and I'm excited to be working at DAMC for the summer! The community in Arlington is so diverse compared to where I grew up, and I'm looking forward to learning more about what makes this city unique. This is my first time getting professional, real-world experience in my major, and I'm excited to learn more from this opportunity!
Chase Fowler
Hello! I’m Chase Fowler, a senior at UTA. I'm double-majoring in public relations and advertising. I grew up in Temple, TX, but Arlington has quickly become a place that feels like home. I’m excited to be on the Downtown Arlington team this summer, helping to elevate the visibility of the Cultural District. Some of my current favorite spots in Downtown are White Rhino Coffee, The Tipsy Oak, and the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.
Taylor Gray
My name's Taylor Gray, and I’m a Junior at UTA majoring in Public Relations. I have attended UTA for almost a year now. I became interested in public relations after starting my social media platforms. Through them I’ve been able to work with different brands, which grew my love for video creation. I look forward to learning more about video editing for the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation podcasts.
Karina Oviedo
My name is Karina, and I'm a senior at UTA majoring in Visual Communication Design. I've been at UTA since 2019 and will be graduating this December, so I've been looking for ways to spend more time appreciating my campus and community before I leave. I'm excited to work in Downtown Arlington, because it'll allow me to learn more about the community in Arlington, be more involved, and grow my experiences in the professional world. So far, one thing I love about the community in Downtown is the coffee shops. I haven't gotten the chance to try them all yet, but they will become my first stops for studying when the Fall semester begins.
Ishu Pokhrel
Hi! My name is Ishu Pokhrel, and I am a marketing major at The University of Texas at Arlington. I have been attending UTA for about three years now. One of the things I am excited to work on this summer is enhancing my skills and promoting creativity in the Downtown Arlington area!
Ravin Walker
My name's Ravin, and I attend the University of Texas at Arlington. I observe – I study – I create – I follow, and that has motivated me to continue to strive for my journalism degree. Journalism is interesting – you just have to find the right ways to inspire interest among your audience. I’ve mastered personal communication skills, and that is one of my many strengths. Now I'm looking forward to gaining as much professional experience as possible working with Downtown Arlington. I love what Downtown Arlington offers the community, and I can’t wait to create more events and leave a mark with this amazing team!
