Downtown Arlington Management Corporation Names Maggie Campbell As New President and CEO
After a national search, the Board of Directors for the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation announced today that Maggie Campbell is returning as President and CEO of the organization.
DAMC, which is located in Arlington, TX, is a private, non-profit community development organization whose purpose is to forge alliances between stakeholders and enhance the economic vitality of Downtown Arlington. Campbell’s first day on the job will be March 11, 2019.
The national search for the new DAMC leader attracted candidates from the Dallas-Fort Worth region and across the country.
“We are thrilled to have Maggie join us," said Amy Cearnal, DAMC Board Chair. "Together, we'll work in partnership with the City of Arlington to fulfill the recently adopted Downtown Arlington Master Plan. Under her leadership, we will continue to promote Downtown Arlington as a thriving spot in the middle of the Metroplex!”
Campbell has been dedicated to downtown revitalization and development for more than 25 years, and served as DAMC’s first President when the organization was founded in 2006. Ms. Campbell has a long history in leadership roles with similar efforts in diverse communities such as Downtown St. Louis, Missouri; the renowned Old Pasadena District in Pasadena, California; and the historic West End District in Dallas, Texas.
Campbell started her career in the Texas Main Street Program, working in small towns in Texas and Oklahoma. She then served as Special Events Manager for Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. and was responsible for major events such as the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival, The Parade of Lights, and the Fort Worth Fourth. Most recently, she served as the Director of Urban Experience for MIG, Inc. a national design, planning and communications firm based in California. MIG recently completed the new Downtown Arlington Master Plan for the City of Arlington.
“I am honored to be joining such a dedicated public-private partnership with Downtown Arlington. There’s a lot to be excited about, and I’m thrilled to be coming back to Texas and to Arlington,” said Campbell.
