Celebrate September in Downtown Arlington with art, concerts, festivals
As summer winds down and the fall season begins, Downtown Arlington is buzzing with events, activities and experiences you won’t want to miss. From live music under the stars to vibrant art festivals and local shopping, September is shaping up to be a month full of creativity and celebration.
September 4 First Thursday

It's the Thursday you’ve been looking forward to all month! First Thursdays are your chance to explore Downtown in a whole new way, with businesses staying open late, food and drink specials, live music and plenty of artistic activations throughout the district. Whether you’re grabbing dinner, meeting up with friends or just strolling through, September’s First Thursday is the perfect way to kick off the month.
- The Little Art Bus: Hop on the air-conditioned mobile art studio and paint your own masterpiece. The bus seats 8–10 people at a time, with stations resetting until supplies run out. Arrive early to grab a brush and get creative!
- Walk with Walkable Arlington: Join Walkable Arlington outside the Downtown Library at 5 p.m. for a guided walk audit. Share your feedback on pedestrian safety and accessibility to help shape Downtown’s future improvements.
- Street Sounds by Arlington Amplified: Enjoy live performances from local musicians across Downtown. Acts like Mason Engler at Cheba Hut and Max & Landon at City Center Plaza bring the district to life with music.

West Main Arts Festival on September 20
A Downtown favorite returns! The West Main Arts Festival takes over W. Main Street on Saturday, September 20, bringing our cultural district to life with a lively showcase of creativity. Browse booths featuring original artwork from local artists and vendors such as photography, jewelry and crafts. Enjoy performances from local musicians, dancers and street performers. With food vendors, activities for all ages and one-of-a-kind finds, it’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday celebrating the arts.
Levitt Pavilion’s Fall Season Begins
There’s nothing like live music at the Levitt Pavilion, and this September, the free outdoor concert series returns! Pack your picnic blanket and lawn chairs and enjoy a wide variety of artists under the open sky.
