CASA of Tarrant County Superhero Run

Did you ever want to be a superhero? To fight the good fight? To do something amazing!? Spectacular? Incredible?! Well now you can, because CASA of Tarrant County needs your help! We’re stretching out our tights, grabbing our masks, donning our capes, and lacing up our boots for the 1st Annual Superhero Run at Globe Life Park in Arlington on December 13. We’re preparing for over 500 big and little superheroes from around the community who will run and walk for the most important cause imaginable. The event will support advocacy for children in foster care, and is a fantastically fun, family friendly, action-packed way of making a big difference in a child’s life.

Every child deserves a clear voice, a safe home, and a bright future, regardless of their life circumstances. In 2013, over 350 CASA volunteers – Superheroes – agreed. They joined us by serving as friends of the court, speaking up for children, raising their voices against the unspeakable. Together they served 802 children, including 150 from Arlington and Mansfield. But the need for courageous advocates is still great. There are yet mighty deeds to be done! East and Southeast Tarrant County, including Arlington, Mansfield, and Grand Prairie, account for 23% of all child abuse and neglect cases in which a child is removed from their home for their safety. Over 350 children, including 50 from your community, are still waiting on the voice of a crusading CASA volunteer.

Every child deserves a future free from uncertainty, but rather filled with happiness and hope. You can give abused and neglected children the justice they deserve by supporting an organization that fights to ensure every foster child in Tarrant County has a safe, loving, permanent home.
