Be the Good! Support Your Favorite Arlington Non-Profit through North Texas Giving Day

Making a personal commitment to philanthropy, such as volunteering at Mission Arlington or contributing to Theatre Arlington’s capital campaign, can make a big difference. Multiply that individual commitment by every person within a community? That’s a movement!

That’s the idea behind the annual North Texas Giving Day, presented by the Communities Foundation of Texas. The largest community-wide giving event in the nation, North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour, online giving event designed to empower every person to support local nonprofits and causes they care about through one easy-to-use platform. In 2020, $58.8 million was raised through 106,000 donors benefiting over 3,200 local nonprofits, bringing the twelve-year total to over $375 million.

This year, North Texas Giving Day is Thursday, September 23, 2021. A number of non-profits in Downtown Arlington are participating in the event, including:

  • Arlington Historical Society
  • Arlington Life Shelter
  • Arlington Master Chorale
  • Arlington Museum of Art
  • Arlington Texas Mayor's Committee on People with Disabilities
  • Arlington Urban Ministries
  • Dallas Wings Community Foundation
  • Dance Theatre of Arlington
  • Franklin Imagine Group
  • Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Arlington
  • Green Oaks Education and Support Inc.
  • HELP Center
  • HOPE Tutoring Center
  • Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex
  • SafeHaven of Tarrant County
  • Symphony Arlington
  • Theatre Arlington
  • University of Texas at Arlington
  • UTA Wesley Foundation

“Many arts, cultural and service-oriented nonprofit organizations make Downtown Arlington their home,” said Maggie Campbell, president and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation. “North Texas Giving Day is an ideal opportunity to show them our support and gratitude.”

You can donate to the non-profits of your choice through the North Texas Giving Day website anytime between now and September 23. Visit northtexasgivingday.org

All gifts raised on or before Sept. 23 count toward each non-profit organization’s grand total, which contributes to their eligibility to win prizes and bonus grants. In Arlington, bonus grants are provided in large part by the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation. Winners of the grants, including the $10,000 People’s Choice Award, will be announced at a special North Texas Giving Day concert at the Levitt Pavilion.
