“Be Like Mike” Putting Competition Benefits Michael Jarrett Scholarship Fund

Want to get out of the office, support a great cause, and have some fun with your downtown friends? Join us for the first Michael Jarrett “Be Like Mike" Putting Competition presented by Worthington National Bank, benefiting the Michael Jarrett Scholarship fund, on Monday September 26th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shady Valley Country Club.

The 2022 Michael Jarrett "Be Like Mike" Putting Competition will be held after the Greater Arlington Chamber 18th Annual Golf Tournament on the putting greens outside the clubhouse. Try your hand for the long putt - the closer you get, the better the prizes! You can support with $20 for 2 shots, or go big with $40 for 5. Prizes will range from a free taco from Cartel Taco Bar to a cash prize for a hole-in-one. We’ll also have music, games and a bar cart!

Even if you don’t golf, come support a great cause that benefits the Downtown Arlington community. You don’t have to be playing in the tournament to participate in the putting competition. You don’t even have to be a golfer!

The effect of Michael Jarrett’s sudden and tragic death swept across the community in a wave of grief. Mike was known for his fierce dedication to the community, his love for Dachshunds, and of course, his fantastic golf game. But the ripple effect of his legacy has empowered a new wave of service and commitment through the Michael Jarrett Scholarship.

About the Michael Jarrett Scholarship

Proceeds from the putting competition benefit the Michael Jarrett Scholarship fund, which will be awarded to a UTA student who exhibits strong leadership values. The Scholarship was organized thanks to generous cooperation from:

• Michael Jacobson and Alicia Collins Butler with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce
• Joni Wilson and Carl Cravens with Susser Bank
• Arlington ISD Education Foundation
• Arlington Rotary Club
• The Salvation Army
• Mike’s alma mater, The University of Texas at Arlington, will be housing the funds and helping administer the scholarship.
