Arlington Heroes Parade kicks off Veterans Day in Downtown Arlington

Saturday, November 11 is Veteran's Day, and commemorations are taking place throughout Arlington, Texas, our American Dream City. In Downtown Arlington, be sure to come for the first-ever Arlington Heroes Parade, then stay and enjoy special discounts offered by many Downtown Arlington destinations.

Arlington Heroes Parade

Downtown Arlington serves as backdrop for the inaugural Arlington Heroes Parade, held in honor of Arlington’s veterans, active military members and first responders. The parade begins at 1:00 p.m.

Leading the parade is grand marshal Taya Kyle. Taya came into the spotlight after the sudden death of her husband, U.S. Navy SEAL veteran, and New York Times best-selling author Chris Kyle. She's worked tirelessly to extend his legacy through a Foundation in his name and by authoring her own book, American Wife, a story of her journey through tragedy.

The parade route will circle Downtown by first traveling east on Abram St., south on Mary St., then west along E. Border and W. South Streets.

The Arlington Heroes Parade is expected to feature floats, vintage cars, firefighters, police officers, veterans, active duty military members, and organizations focused on supporting military and first responders. #AHP2017
