2016 DAMC Annual Meeting: Activating a Next Gen Downtown
Dig into the business of attracting and keeping new industry and talent to Downtown Arlington by joining us for the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation 2016 Annual Meeting Luncheon, Thursday, September 22 at The University of Texas at Arlington. Sponsorship opportunities, as well as individual and group tickets are available now.
The big idea
A deep understanding of what drives the global economy underlies the research and teaching at UT Arlington. Together with that depth of knowledge is also a commitment to bringing real-world solutions to market and preparing market-ready graduates for the workforce.
With such a unique engine of innovation and talent located in Downtown -- an engine that graduates its own creative class of 10,000 Mavericks every year -- DAMC seeks to leverage the power of its members and partners in the incubation of start-ups, UTA students and placemaking.
"Millennials aren't just looking for a job. They're looking for a place that is authentic and resonates with their lifestyle," said Tony Rutigliano, president and CEO of Downtown Arlington Management Corporation. "The same is true for entrepreneurs seeking a location for their businesses. We want Downtown Arlington to become this kind of place for new employees and employers as well as our current partners. Together, we can make it happen."
The agenda
At the DAMC 2016 Annual Meeting, we'll hone the vision for our Next Gen Downtown by exploring it from all the critical angles, guided by the experts.
UTA President Vistasp Karbhari will delve into today's UT Arlington, including a look at how the university is revolutionizing the way it creates connections between its students and industry. Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams and Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley will explore how cities can create that all-important sense of place, proactively engage in workforce development, and attract new business and investment. Industry leader CBRE will unveil new, targeted market research analytics to underpin the conversation, while Texas Health Resources experts will provide insights on emerging trends in HR and workforce recruitment.
