This year, the fun theme and the program will highlight the importance of walkability in our community with a feature keynote presentation.
The theme for this year’s event, “Walk the Talk,” celebrates the importance of walkability in Downtown Arlington to increase community engagement and how walkable real estate increases property value in downtown. There's been a lot of great advancements in walkability happening here, but you will leave inspired to do much, much more!
Keynote Speaker, Christopher Leinberger
This year, the event will also feature a renowned keynote speaker sponsored by the Arlington Economic Development Corporation to discuss the theme.
This year’s keynote speaker, Christopher Leinberger, is one of the nation’s leading authorities on urban development and the value of walkable real estate. He is a land use strategist, real estate developer, researcher, a Brookings Institute Fellow, and was recognized as one of the top 100 urbanists in the nation.
“The major trend in American development over the next generation is the urbanization of the suburbs… and there is substantial pent up demand for these walkable urban, mixed use places, as shown by %?SF price/rental premiums and market share growth,” he said.
Leinberger is also the Co-founding Partner and Managing Director of Places Platform, LLC, a proptech start-up developing an AI-driven data platform encompassing 100% of real estate in the U.S.
