Featured Event: Lion Dance Performances with Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe

Get ready for an unforgettable, high-energy cultural experience! On October First Thursday, the nationally recognized Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe is taking over Rotary Dream Park for two spectacular, family-friendly performances at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Witness an incredible blend of ancient traditions and modern flair as these interactive lions perform dynamic choreography to the powerful rhythm of live drums and cymbals. Known for bringing good luck and fortune, their playful lions will be jumping into the crowd for interactive moments, followed by an exclusive photo opportunity at the end of each set!

Featured Event: Pop-Up Powwow with IndigiCommunity

Experience Indigenous culture right in the heart of downtown during October First Thursday! Join IndigiCommunity for a special pop-up Powwow performance at City Center Plaza (directly in front of the Downtown Library) from 7:15 PM – 8:00 PM.

This vibrant pop-up offers a preview of the upcoming North Texas Powwow, taking place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Esports Stadium Arlington.

Be sure to stop by City Center Plaza during First Thursday to experience the drumming, dancing, and rich traditions firsthand! For more details on the main event or vendor inquiries, visit indigicommunity.org.

Featured Event: Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with Arlington Public Library

Celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture this October with Arlington Public Library in partnership with Downtown Arlington's First Thursdays series. Experience the beauty of dance, art, and cultural traditions in an evening of creativity and celebration.

The evening will come alive with a vibrant Ballet Folklórico performance at 6 p.m. at City Center Plaza. Before and after the performance, patrons are invited to get creative with a hands-on craft activity, designing their own colorful, traditional Mexican-inspired masks - activity will be held in the [re]Brary room at George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.

All ages are welcomed - craft supplies available on first-come, first-serve basis.

Featured Event: Downtown Lens Photo Walk with Arlington Camera

Join Arlington Camera for a "Downtown Lens" photowalk during October First Thursdays. Explore the district and capture the art, people, and unique details that make our community special. Whether you are using a professional DSLR or a smartphone, this event is open to all ages and skill levels.

Photo Contest: Share your best shots on Instagram by tagging @ArlingtonCamera and @dtarlington and using the hashtag #ArlingtonCameraFirstThursdays for a chance to win a prize. The winner will be announced on October 8th.

Arlington Amplified presents: Street Sounds

This First Thursday, Downtown Arlington comes alive with the sounds of local DFW musicians, thanks to our partnership with Arlington Amplified! From 5-8 PM, talented buskers will fill the streets with their music, creating a unique and engaging cultural experience. Join us in supporting the thriving arts community of North Texas and discover your new favorite artist! Enjoy live music at Abram Alley and the Mineral Well fountain for the month of October.


Irish Sessions with Symphony Arlington

Feeling lucky? We sure are! Join us as Marina Dichenko and Nick Kohn with Symphony Arlington take the open mic stage at Division Brewing for Irish Sessions. Prepare to be transported as you enjoy a spirited evening of beer, pizza, and traditional Irish music.

  • Plant a Plant: Help us celebrate the unveiling of our new landscaping program, by planting flowers in our new district-wide floral planters.

  • Downtown Arlington Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Night Market: Help Downtown Arlington ring in the 2026 Holiday season with the ceremonial lighting of our Downtown Arlington Christmas Tree!
