This Saturday, January 12 from 2:00-6:00 p.m., the first-ever Downtown Arlington Foodies Farmer’s Market will be popping up adjacent to Legal Draft Beer Co., 500 E. Division St., right here in Downtown Arlington. This new monthly enterprise is a creative whirlwind of collaboration between Arlington Foodies, Downtown Arlington Management Corporation (DAMC) and a plethora of other enthusiastic partners and vendors.
“We’re very grateful to everyone who has jumped in to support us,” said Jennifer Hurley, Arlington Foodies member and co-founder of the Farmer’s Market. “DAMC has given us invaluable support in permitting. Legal Draft graciously offered us space at their location, and Urban Union is providing additional space for the market.”
Arlington Foodies, a non-profit that supports community-building through health and wellness initiatives, has experience in launching programs that close the gap between farmers and families. The Arlington Foodies Produce Co-op meets every other week at CenterSpace Coworking for their community-driven produce pick up. When the Farmer’s Market opens this Saturday, the Produce Co-op will be there selling local and organic produce.
The Downtown Arlington Foodies Farmer’s Market will take place on the second Saturday of every month. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to come along with their people. For more information, visit the website or the Facebook event.
What’s Blossoming at the Market?
Nearly twenty Farmer’s Market vendors will offer shoppers an array of goods for sample and sale this month. Even more vendors are expected to participate in the Market in February.
In addition to the delicious selection of fruits, herbs and vegetables at the Market, you’ll find specialty coffee, baked goods, beef jerky, CBD products, soaps, popcorn, cheeses, jams and much more. While you’re at the Market, we also recommend you also make time to explore the growing number of restaurants, bars, shops and destinations that call Urban Union home.
