Honoring the Past: Arlington Black History Community Archive

The Arlington Public Library recently announced the creation of the Arlington Black History Community Archive, a growing collection of photographs and other memorabilia created to honor, preserve, and communicate the rich heritage of Arlington's Black community.

The archive can be found online by clicking here.

Currently, the online archive features 26 images including photographs, yearbook excerpts, clippings, and artifacts of historic relevance. Once Phase One of digitizing and describing is complete, the archive will contain more than 100 items.

If you can provide more details about any of the items in the archive or would like to partner with the Arlington Public Library to preserve your family's or group's materials, please get in touch by email or leave a message for the Local History Librarian at 817-459-6795.
