‘Downtown Arlington: Open for Business’ Series Launches on MyArlingtonTV

The City of Arlington’s Office of Communication has launched a new series on MyArlingtonTV highlighting the restaurants and stores that are open for business during the two-year Abram Street Revitalization Project. The show is part of ongoing efforts between the City and the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation to work closely together to support Downtown businesses, communicate lane closures, construction milestones and other important information during construction.

The first two episodes feature a couple of Downtown Arlington’s longtime staples for residents and visitors, J.R. Bentley’s Restaurant and Pub and J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill. Future episodes will include Truth Vinyl, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Hooligan’s Pub, Kool Keg, PinnStation, Potager’s Other Stuff, Old School Pizza and Suds, Shipley’s Do-Nuts and many more over the next several months.

J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill, located at 400 E Abram St, has been a local hot spot in Downtown since 1979. Owner Randy Ford has been providing a home for live music and local bands for decades. The restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley’s has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year plus other special events.
