September 27 - November 24
Event Navigation

Arlington Museum of Art is hosting its first Artist-in-Residence this fall, photographer, writer and artist Amy J. Schultz. As a part of the Residency, the AMA will feature MUMENTOUS: The Upsizing of a Texas Tradition, a new multi-media art exhibition created by Schultz. The exhibition will run from September 27th-November 24th, with a private Opening Reception for AMA members on September 26th.
ABOUT MUMENTOUS
If you can’t judge a book by its cover, then it’s definitely true you can’t judge a homecoming mum by its size, according to writer and photographer Amy J. Schultz who has spent the last three years studying this ubiquitous Texas high school tradition.
Rather than focusing only on the physicality of mums, Amy explores driving forces behind the tradition including fan and pop culture through the years, football, critics, and social media, entrepreneurship, DIY, & moms. Now her exhibition, which combines photography, video, 3D and narrative, is debuting at the Arlington Museum of Art.
